What It Means to Be Baptized

If you've decided to follow Jesus, we encourage you to follow His example and be baptized. Baptism is an outward symbol of your inward commitment to follow Jesus. This sacred step symbolizes your commitment to Christ and a fresh start in His love.

The bible tell us that baptism is:

a symbol of Jesus' burial and resurrection.
(1 Corinthians 15:3, 4 Colossians 2:12)

a symbol of your new life as a Christian.
(
2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:4)

I WANT TO KNOW MORE
  • Every person who has made the decision to believe in Jesus. Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12, Acts 8:13
  • The one requirement for baptism is belief in Jesus!
  • Note: We do not baptize children until they are old enough to understand and believe.
  • To follow Jesus' example. Mark 1:9
  • Jesus commanded it. Matthew 28:19-20
  • It shows others you believe. Acts 18:8
  • Obeying Jesus' command shows you know Him. 1 John 2:3
  • As soon as you have believed!  You shouldn't delay. Acts 2:41, Acts 8:36-39
  • Like Jesus was baptized - by being immersed in water. Matthew 3:16
  • Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion under water. Acts 8:38, 39
  • The word "Baptize" literally means "to dip under water."
  • It's the best way to picture a burial and resurrection.
